Hello all!

It’s been six and a half weeks of work, but I’m so excited to reveal our finished kitchen and breakfast nook! Check out below for the before and afters…

KITCHEN

If you remember, six weeks ago, we started here:

Our kitchen was a decent size and layout – however, it was very, very beige and 1990s. Our plan was to redo our kitchen counter with feather finish concrete, paint the cabinets white up top and blue at the bottom, redo our backsplash, replace all of the hardware, and paint the floors.

Without further ado, here’s the after!

We’re incredibly proud of our work. Of the intended projects, we accomplished everything but the floors – and that was only because of a backordered paint. It’s a total transformation from what it was, and we’re thrilled!

BREAKFAST NOOK

Now to the nook! This was the nook before:

It was effectively a blank slate, but we knew we wanted a Parisian bistro breakfast nook – and to accomplish that, we needed to DIY a corner bench, hunt down and make over a thrifted round table, replace the light, add curtains, and add bistro chairs.

Here’s the after!

This has been one of the most functional parts of the ORC – this nook went from an area that we never used to somewhere we spend a lot of time. It’s where we eat our breakfast, work from home, and our cat Carole’s favorite place to lounge and look out the window. The lighting is also much better over in this corner now, thanks to the new chandelier.

I can’t believe the ORC is over! It’s been the most incredible journey and has been so much fun. If you’ve stuck with me this long, I want to give my heartfelt thanks - I’m so grateful for this experience and can’t wait for the spring event.

Much love! Claire
